Hello,
I have installed SOPERA ToolSuite 3.2 + DevBox + Hyperic Agent on a Windows XP virtual machine, which is connected by a virtual network to a Linux CentOS machine, running the Hyperic Server + Agent. The Hyperic Agent on the Windows XP machine has the Hyperic HQ plugin installed, to report the status of the SOPERA business services on the local DevBox. I used a special trick suggested by Armin for this: a) Change the ServiceBackbone\work\components\org.sopware.SOPEng ine\install\conf\SBB\bootstrap_cfg.tsp.xml to <Port>18842</Port> (actually any port which is different from 18342 and free is OK) <EmAdapter> <Port>18842</Port> <Host>localhost</Host> <Username>ElementManager</Username> <Password>e5e9fa1ba31ecd1ae84f75caaa474f3a663f05f4 </Password> <Activate>true</Activate> </EmAdapter> This will change the JMX port for the TSPs. b) The ServiceBackbone\work\components\org.sopware.SOPEng ine\install\conf\SBB\bootstrap_cfg.xml should look like: <EmAdapter> <Port>18342</Port> <Host>localhost</Host> <Username>ElementManager</Username> <Password>e5e9fa1ba31ecd1ae84f75caaa474f3a663f05f4 </Password> <Activate>true</Activate> </EmAdapter> The SOPERA services I start are not always added to Hyperic correctly. Sometimes they suddenly appear after a few restarts of Hyperic, and the main problem I have is that the status of the services isn't updated -- it doesn't matter wheter I start or stop a service, the status always stays green. I tested whether this behaviour also occurs for other services in Hyperic, by starting and stopping the sshd process on my CentOS machine, and it seems that Hyperic also doesn't update the red/green status for that service. (refreshing the webpage doesnt help). Is this a known problem? How can I solve this issue? Here is the agent.log file from the Hyperic HQ agent: http://pastebin.com/ydgi8pKM Thanks in advance! Niek |

Update: I discovered that the sshd service status is being updated correctly, but it takes a while before it simply transitions from red to green and vice versa. For SOPERA services, this does not happen for me.

Hello industrialtsi
How do you shutdown your SOPERA service? How do you starting it up? Is there a chance that SBB instance that was used by your service is still up and running? Also the MSS notifications (which are the basis for HQ information) are usually disabled in the DevBox installation, would you consider installing SOPERA infrastructure on the CentOS and try there? Hi,
I think Marian is in Utrecht today and is going to find out together with TSI, what is the exact problem. It would be good to see the result of your investigation in the forum as well ![]() Cheers, Armin
